Dad is traveling for a couple of days so Mom and Sadie took a selfie to say good morning to him.

Sadie's weekend

Mom and Dad needed to have a productive weekend so Sadie spent Sunday at Babulya and Deda's house.  By the sounds of it she had a wonderful time!  She even got some of her favorite - banana! 

Oh My God - Sadie's Mastered the Stairs!!!

Yesterday, Sadie decided to climb up the stairs (from the second to the third floor of our building).  We don't have any photographic or video proof of her climbing because Dad was busy making sure she didn't fall, but here is a picture of her at the top of the stairs looking at the apartment door above ours. (And before all you germaphobes get worried, the building has a cleaning crew come through once a week and they were here just a couple of hours before Sadie attempted this feat).

So to recap - not only is this the first time she climbed any stairs, but she climbed all the way up an entire flight by herself.

Sadie is 10 months old!

We've had an eventful month around here (we all traveled to Kansas City, Sadie had her first Passover, and mom started a new job leading to Sadie having a new day of day care).  Dad is looking forward to the return of music classes starting next week.

We also have some new bath toys now to keep Sadie occupied enough to not try and stand up in the bath.

It's finally warm enough that leaving the house doesn't mean we have to spend 20 minutes bundling everyone up.  Also, Sadie standing and trying to walk means we got her some Dinosaur sneakers :-)

And finally the grown chart photo.  That one was a bit challenging to get because she just did not want to stand still long enough for us to take it.  Here are out best attempts (from two different days).

And now for a bonus photo.  Sadie has been devouring the fishcakes Babulya and Deda made for us.  I tried to take a picture of her eating them but she stuffs them in her mouth too quickly :-)

Our budding painter

Yesterday we received the following email from day care:

Hello Parents,
Throughout the day we explored with some paint and stencils. We placed the stencils on white poster board and allowed the children to spread the paint everywhere. We encourage and showed each child what to do, they all looked at their hands and made funny faces. They were working on their hand and eye coordination while getting messy and having fun. We also used a lot of language with each child, talking about the colors they were using and what animal they were painting. Overall each of them had lots of fun and we will continue to do more painting activities.

What was that noise?

So we rushed to the window and what did we see?

A turkey! 

Sadie watched it go down the street, cross one direction at a crosswalk and then the other direction at a green light and disappear into a parking lot.

The Boston metro area has an aggressive turkey problem, but it can still be pretty entertaining. 

Sadie's first Passover

Yesterday we spent a lovely evening at Sam and Kate's house.  Sadie unfortunately missed most of the festivities as they were past her bedtime but here are some pictures for posterity's sake.

Also I tried to get Hannah and Sadie in the same picture but it actually turns out that it's impossible to photograph two 10 month olds simultaneously looking at the camera.

Sadie in Kansas City

So as many of you know, we were in Kansas City just one short week ago.  So here is the picture recap from the trip!

Here is Sadie looking around the airport as we wait to board the plane.  She was a champion traveler and didn't even cry at take off or landing.  She spent almost the entire time she was awake playing with the block (pictured).

Once we got to Kansas City, it was a whirlwind of activity.  There was also lots of family around to give Sadie plenty of hugs and attention.  Here she is with Grandpa David.

On Saturday morning Ari stopped by and visited.

On Saturday afternoon we went to Village Shalom to visit Great Grandma Joyce, where Sadie played with lots of toys and got quite a haul of presents herself.

Lynn was also there with her girls, Ellie and Jane.  They were wonderful and played with Sadie very nicely. Sadie seemed to enjoy knocking down the towers they built.

We didn't get any of the pictures with Robin, Frank, or Judy, but if someone wants to send them, we'll post those too.

Larry joined us for the evening (bringing an only mildly terrifying robotic Elmo!), though the photographic evidence didn't return with us to Boston, so you'll have to take our word for it.

On Sunday we had many more visitors.  Jessica and Adam came with their 3 boys.  Photographing that swirl of activity was kind of hard but you get the idea...

Later that afternoon, Howard and Sherri stopped by to say hello as well.

Sadie couldn't be happier with all the attention she was getting and gave everyone big smiles all around.

But sadly all the fun had to end, and we headed back to Boston.

Sadie's limited understanding of Starbucks

Sadie's been completely obsessed with Mom's old Starbucks card.  Though she hasn't quite gotten the concept that you use it to buy things to eat... not to eat it itself :-)
