AxB Progress Update

Product Development continues unabated!  This week we got confirmation that the new addition to our household is going to be a boy.  For the interested, here are the ultrasound pictures.

On the Sadie front, she's gotten really into setting up her stuffed animals "just so".  For example, before she'll go to bed or lie down for a nap she will tuck in her frog and Raggedy Anne.  In the morning, she sets them up in the crib.  Last night, before bed, she set her dinosaur up in her arm chair with some reading material for the evening.

She's also, unbeknownst to her, getting ready for her big sister role by being helpful.  Here she is helping Dad move the hampers into the laundry room.

 

Grandma Visit Part 3

If all had gone as planned, sadly Grandma would have left us on Sunday night.  However, the snow both in Boston and St. Louis interfered and she had to stay with us a whole extra day.  Given that it was President's Day Mom and Dad were both home, we decided to brave the weather and all go to the Children's Museum.

Sadie had a total blast.  As usual, the bubbles were a big favorite.

 

But alas all good things come to an end and in the evening grandma had to leave.  There was some more cuddles, and one more book, and one more time with the puzzle...

And one last kiss and squeeze from Grandma!

It was a great weekend and we can't wait to visit you in March!

Grandma Visit Part 2

During the weekend while, Sadie continued to hang out with Grandma.  On Saturday Sadie showed off her monkey skills with Dad.

Then, Mom and Grandma went out for supplies, and took some pictures to document the snow.  Here is Grandma standing in a curb cut in Allston.

Sadie also read to her dinosaur and played with a new puzzle that Grandma brought her.

On Sunday we decided it was time to introduce Sadie to a new activity - baking cookies!!!  Here's Sadie dumping the flour into the dough while Grandma mixes.

Sadie then loved playing with the dough to form cookies (she made 2 by and for herself)

And of course that night after dinner came the best part - eating the cookies :-)

In case anyone was wondering they were peanut butter cookies and delicious (shout out to Emily and Nicole for the easy recipe).

Grandma Visit Part 1

Hello from the deep tundra of the frozen north formerly known as Boston.  We are here, buried under the 93 inches of snow that have fallen so far on what I used to think of as my beautiful city.  Yet somehow we remain here, trying to find new ways of entertaining ourselves in doors.

We were so lucky this weekend that Grandma Lora braved the weather and came to visit us.  Usually, Sadie spends Thursdays with Babulya and Deda but this week she stayed home with our very special visitor.  Sadie also skipped school on Friday to hang out with Grandma.

They had lots of fun reading books and playing with blocks.

She also tried on Grandma's boots and got ready to go run some errands

 Unfortunately, it's much too cold for Sadie to go out dressed like that.  Grandma and Sadie did manage to go to Starbucks, though.

Time with Dad

It's been a cold week in Boston and after a snowy Monday, Sadie and Dad spent Tuesday keeping warm inside.

Sadie was pretty content to play by herself which made for a pretty cute (and occasionally productive) day.

First, Sadie spied her carseat and wanted to strap herself in. She then sat and read books in her carseat for quite a bit. Unusual, but pretty fun.

Then, we assembled some new shelves for the laundry room (not pictured) and Dad left the box in the living room for Sadie to explore.

Afterwards, Dad had been busy in the kitchen and came out to see what Sadie was doing and found her trying on Mom's shoes... 

Being a proper 21st Century kind of kid, she then (without prompting) tried on Dad's as well.

It was a great (AND ADORABLE) day.

Pretend play - napping

On Sunday Sadie refused her nap (an activity she's been engaging in more often than we would like to admit).   However, she was in pretty good spirits.  In particular she wanted to put her toys down for a nap.  She covered Raggedy Ann with a blanket (that's the lump in the corner there - Sadie is not adhering to SIDS guidelines).  She then insisted I help her put her frog in her sleep sack and patted the frog and Ann's back and told them to "seep".  She then laid down between them for 30 seconds (pictured).  Sadly no nap for Sadie was forthcoming but it was very cute.
