Sadie started crawling for real now. I was trying to record this phenomenon so I laid out all her toys in front of her so she'd crawl towards me. Of course she had other ideas....

The long awaited "Sadie is 7 months post"

So we finally got around to posting these (sorry for the delay).  Rest assured, however, that though this post is almost 2 weeks late, the photos were taken at the correct time and thus are accurate.

And now as a bonus picture, that week we went out to dinner and Sadie sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time (she's still a little on the small side for it though).  We even fed her a small chunk of butternut squash from our plate :-)

Eventful day

Sadie had a very eventful day yesterday.  First we went to visit Babulya and Deda (and play with cousin Eitan).

And then, before bed, we had some visitors... 

Sadie home from day care again

We've been somewhat delinquent in posting to the blog and late on Sadie's 7 month photos (they're coming, we swear!).  In the mean time, we're home with Sadie because day care is closed due to snow and cold.  Here are some pictures of her in a very cute little vest (it's pretty cold in our house for some reason).

Tuesdays with Dad: Trying out New Things

This Tuesday was a big day!

First, we went to our new music class. It was pretty exciting and there were so many things to do and see and touch (castanets! rattles! triangles! bells!) that it was almost overwhelming. In fact, there was so much going on, I forgot to take any photos! I'll try next week though...

Once we got home, we did some more time on the mat practicing crawling and took a break to see where we are on learning the pincer grip. It was less "pincer" and more "mechanical claw device at the arcade that picks up and drops stuffed animals," but with 40% less dropping.

It make look like she's eating lots of Cheerios as they disappear in the various photos, but really, I can now officially say we have a home with a child, as our floor was soon covered in Cheerios... only one of which I stepped on later!

Day care puts pictures up of all the kids and lists what skills they're working on.  They switch this out about every 2 months or so.  This is what went up for Sadie this past week.

She's sooo sooo close to be able to crawl and also situp, but not quite there yet (she basically falls down 2 seconds after she gets on her hands and knees)

There's something about her recently that really makes it easy for me to imagine her as a toddler now... I think this picture captures it pretty well.

How Sadie spent her snow day...

Boston got 14.5 inches of snow over the last day and a half.  The result was a state of emergency being declared and day care being closed...

But watch out for the teeth

Alice and Max brought over a Squishable for Sadie. Designed for huggability, at the moment, it's as big as she is, which actually is also kind of fun.

This particular Squishable is the Utahraptor, a lesser known dinosaur native to, and this will be a surprise, the area we now call... Utah.
