Day care Fancy Day

This Wednesday was "Fancy Day" at school and all the kids wore nice clothes they were willing to play in. Since both children were cooperative this morning and we weren't running late for once, we decided to document the occasion.  So here they are, on our way out the door.

Make Way for Ducklings Outing

Anyone who's read to Sadie at our house in the last 6 months has noticed how much she loves the book Make Way for Ducklings. This past weekend, we finally had an outing to celebrate that love.

We set out early in the morning to get some breakfast downtown. Lev was excited too, though that may have been for food more than ducks.

After breakfast, we recreated the duck's walk down Charles Street (though Sadie was on her scooter) and entered the Public Garden.

Once we got to the Garden, the kids had a blast sitting on the ducks (there were lots of children sitting on the ducks... it was an unexpected inclination).

We then went to look at some real ducks.

 We then walked on the little bridge over the pond and looked at the Swan boats.

We had a really lovely day!

Lev has new skills!

Did you know that kids in the same family can be different? I know, it's a shock to us too!  While Sadie was off and running the second she took her first independent step, Lev has been more cautious.  He's taken a step or 2 in the last week, but pretty much only when he hasn't realized he's doing it.  He still prefers cruising and crawling.  But he is becoming confident at standing independently!

He's also been having lots of fun with the tower toy we have.

Sadie got a haircut

Hair brushing has been difficult lately - more and more tangles leading to daily resistance.  Thus, convincing Sadie to get her haircut was a very easy task. So this past Saturday, we got some cookies to help with sitting still and we headed to a salon.

The hairdresser did a fabulous job chatting with Sadie and keeping her comfortable.

And she did a great job with the hair itself because Sadie looks amazing!

Deda's Birthday Weekend on Cape Cod

We spent this past weekend on the cape, celebrating Deda's birthday.  We spent some time on the beach - which the kids loved.

And we had cake and presents for Deda and lots and lots of time for the kids to run around together and cause mayhem.

Lev's First Birthday

A couple weeks ago we had a party to celebrate Lev's birthday. We had originally planned on hosting a bbq but the weather did not cooperate - it rained all day. So instead, we cooked all the food at home and filled our house with lots of friends and family.

We had birthday cupcakes!

Lev enjoyed all the attention and eating them very much!

We had presents!

 And lots and lots of friends and family having a great time together!

Sadie update

Sadie's been enjoying playing with her birthday blocks (thank you Aunt Ava and Uncle Steve).
