Sadie's Birthday Scooter

Sadie got a scooter for her first birthday from Babulya and Deda.  We tried it out at the park this weekend and she loved it!

Sadie's 1st Birthday Party

Last weekend, on Saturday June 21st, we held a party to celebrate Sadie's first birthday, and frankly, our first year as parents.  It couldn't have been a more perfect weather day.  We headed to the park around the corner from our house.

There were decorations!

There was cake!

There was a very pretty dress sent by Aunt Zoya and company!

And most importantly, lots of friends and family joined in the fun and even got to see Sadie's new walking chops!

Sadie was 12 Months Old!!!

Hi everyone, sorry for the silence.  It's been a bit hectic around here.  Sadie turned 1 (!!!), had a birthday party, moved to the next classroom at day care, started drinking cow's milk at lunch, and is now a confident walker.  That's a lot of change for a little girl and especially for her parents.

We have a lot of photos to catch up on, and promise to post them in the coming week, but for now here are the monthly growth photos (these were taken on her birthday).

Taking a Family Walk

With Jiwon in town, we took a walk and found another amazing Brookline Park (this one has a climbing wall for bigger kids!).

When it was time to leave, Jiwon (who is visiting from Switzerland) took this photo...

Afternoon in the Park

Back at the "best park in Brookline," Sadie had some fun pushing around a tricycle as a walker.

Sun Glasses

We've tried putting sunglasses (supplied by Aunt Renee) on Sadie before, but this resulted in vociferous protest.  This weekend, however, we were going on a walk and it was very sunny so we tried the sunglasses again and this time I think Sadie got the idea.

Not her first steps...

What were arguably Sadie's first steps happened this afternoon in the office (3 or 4 steps between Mom and Dad, back and forth). We moved to the living room to get some more space and let the camera roll. We didn't capture any walking, but it was still a good time.

Pig Tails

Day care likes to mess with Sadie's hair, which usually kind of annoys mom.  Yesterday though they put her hair in pig tails and sent us a picture.  Even mom had to admit it was pretty cute.

 

So cute in fact that Babulya had to send us a picture too (since she picked up today).

 

All better now

Sadie seems to have recovered from her illness so yesterday afternoon we took a family walk to run some errands and take Sadie to the play ground.  She was very happy to cruise and watch the bigger kids play.  She also wore her second new hat.

Weekend Re-cap

We've had a crazy week (Dad was traveling, and then Sadie got sick this weekend).  But here are some pictures from when things calmed down a bit.

Sadie started playing with her new toy phone.  She's getting pretty good at imitating :-)

And this morning, she was crawling and cruising with it all around the house in her cute little overalls.
