A day at home

Since this blog has recently turned into a catalog of pictures of my children eating things, I thought I would share proof of other activities.  This Tuesday I came home from work and happaned upon the following scene in the living room:

Pardon the interlude

Hello everyone who may wondering if we are alive.  Good news - we are! Sorry for the brief disappearance but things have a been a bit intense around here.  Dad had a business trip and Mom has been busy looking for a new job and going to interviews.  Thankfully that's all worked out.  Mom will be starting her new job in just 3 weeks and so this blog may go back to getting some love soon.

In the mean time... here are some cute pictures of the kids.

Sadie putting her new knives into the dishwasher for the first time! (Yes we got her knives... don't worry they are made out of nylon and can't cut skin.)

And we had some cousins visit and enjoy our arctic playground escapades.  Later we all came to our house where Lev enjoyed being passed around and Sadie mastered her new puzzles.

Of food and things

So is it just me or was this yesterday that we brought home our little baby burrito from the hospital?

Because this past weekend he GREW UP!  He sits! He holds his bottle!

 

We have a tooth! We started solids!  Here he is gumming some squash!

And here he is demanding more squash puree!!

What happened you guys? I just don't know....

In other news, Sadie and Mom have been continuing their cooking adventure (though not so much with the eating still).

This is an honest to God, unsupported, non tripoding sit (it may look like he is leaning but he is not)!  He kept this up for a good couple minutes before falling over :-)

Introducing Sadie the Chef!

Recently we've been working really hard to include Sadie in cooking dinner in an attempt to combat her very picky eating.  She's been very engaged and legitimately interested in what's going on.  Right now she can help us press garlic, help opening cans with a can opener, and dump measured ingredients into a bowl. Everyone is having a lot of fun doing it.  Sadly the only thing this hasn't affected so far is her eating, but we hold out hope.

Lev is 5 Months Old!

We know this is about a week late but the photos were taken at the correct time.  Lev rung in the new year by turning 5 months old.  He now has some consonants (gah! gah!) and he loves to giggle.  It's pretty much the cutest sound that's ever been made.  He's getting better at sitting and can tripod reasonably well.  Sadie continues to be super sweet to him and he clearly adores her as well.
