Second Weekend - Dad in London

For the second weekend of Dad's London trip, Babulya and Deda took the kids to the cape and Mom joined them there a day later.  Sadly it rained a lot, but the one day it was nice we all went hiking!

The kids had a great time and can't wait to go back!

First weekend - Dad in London

Two weeks ago, dad had a week long work trip to London that spanned across 2 weekends.
The first weekend he was gone, the weather was nice.

The kids said bye to dad, right before take off.

We went to the playground.

We did bath time.

On Sunday, Babulya and Deda brought some cousins to play!

We all went to the playground again and the kids had a blast, chasing each other and generally causing chaos.

Sadie got a haircut!

She's been asking to get her haircut for weeks and we finally did it.

She's one chic little lady now!

Mother's day was very rainy here (as predicted) so we decided to bake some banana muffins :-)

Hiking with the Kids

This weekend in honor of Mother's Day, Alice and I decided to that what we wanted was to take the kids hiking in the Blue Hills.  We got off to a rough start with our ZipCar reservation, but once we got rolling everyone had a blast.

There was plenty of scrambling over rocks.

We're really excited about doing this again lots and lots.

Hello world!  It's mother's day weekend and to celebrate Sadie's class had a little song concert and brunch for the moms.

Mom's birthday and family Hanukkah

This past Monday the Boston clan all descended on the AxB household to celebrate both Mom's birthday and Hanukkah.

There was lots of family hanging out time.

 

There was reading of books old and new (thank you Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Larry for the wonderful books).

Of course, there was a candle for mom to blow out.

And presents to hand out and open.

It was a lovely party.

Hanukkah 2016!

This year Sadie finally understands the concept of a "holiday" and "presents."  Lev is just happy to clap along to singing and run around the living room throwing around wrapping paper. We had a lovely first night of Hanukkah.

First we lit candles.

We then video chatted with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Renee while we opened their presents.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the lovely rocket outfits (worn the next day).

We then finished the night off with some jelly donuts, which Lev ate lustily and Sadie approached with much skepticism.

Lev's first haircut

These pictures are 2 weeks old, but they're still very cute.  We finally took Lev to get his hair cut.  He's had a lot of hair for a long time but because it's curly it wasn't really a problem until recently.

It was an extraordinarily cold day and he wasn't in the greatest mood but we armed ourselves with cookies and went to the salon.

 Thankfully the lady worked fast and we got through it to some adorable results!

Holiday market fun

This past weekend we went to the Boston holiday market.  This is the first year our city has organized such a thing and we've been meaning to go for weeks.  Sadly a series of colds and the weather interfered.  This past Sunday, however, we finally ventured out.

The kids loved looking at the ice skaters and eating pretzels!

We then met up with Alice, Max and Elliot for a short time.  It was very windy, so we found a small hut that presumably hosted an elderly elf earlier in the day, but provided us with a place to chat and take pictures.
