Maybe it's actually spring?

This winter was definitely not as bad as last winter as far as snowfall and city failure is concerned.  That said, it's been really cold for a very long time (see: it snowed just a week ago). And so, this weekend, when it was finally 50 degrees and sunny, we took full advantage and took the kids to the playground.

This was a new and small playground so that Lev could have the chance to play too without Sadie having the opportunity to get too far away. We met Alice and Elliot too and all the kids had lots of fun!

 

Grandma was here!

These pictures are quite late. So late in fact that I'm almost embarrassed to put them up, but then again... better late than never!

Grandma was here 2 weeks ago to visit us for Dad's birthday.  We didn't do anything out of the ordinary.  There was just a lot of hanging out around the house,

reading books,

doing art with some presents grandma bought,

modeling some stylin' sunglasses sent by Aunt Renee

and otherwise being cute.

Thank you for visiting Grandma! As always, we love it when you come.

Lev is 8 months old!

He is crawling and babbling and eating everything in sight these days. He also recognizes his name, no, and "come to me" when we say it.  He continues to be a chubby, happy, cuddly little being.  Sleep is still a challenge and we are, as always, working on it.

And now a bonus photo from our most recent (and hopefully last?) snowstorm, this past week.  Sadie looooved making snowballs and playing in the snow.  She's a real Bostonian!

Happy Purim - Return of Penguin and Fish!

To celebrate Purim we went to our temple carnival party.  Of course, Sadie and Lev dressed up as penguin and fish again!

Sadie got to make her own grager by decorating a paper plate with stickers (and then filling it with beans and stapling it).

Lev mostly enjoyed hanging out.

Sadly the Meghila reading was too late for us, but we're excited for when the kids are old enough for that.

Lev is crawling now!

For the past 10 or so days Lev has been desperately trying to crawl.  He's been rocking on his hands and knees, he's been scooting backwards, and most importantly - he's been super frustrated by his lack of ability to move forward.

Well folks, we've had a breakthrough! Our littlest munchkin is now mobile.

Below is a video of this momentous occasion.  In the background you will hear Mom reading to Sadie, while simultaneously trying to encourage Lev. A day in the life... Enjoy!

Sadie's first day of preschool!

Sadie is starting preschool today.  It somehow feels simultaneously impossible that she could be big enough to do that and also that she is SO READY. Over the past couple months she has really blossomed. She's had a huge language explosion and coupled with that an amazing ability to remember who did what when and where.  She has definitely entered the question phase of childhood.  She also remains super helpful and loving towards Lev - happy to help with diaper changes and bringing him toys when he's upset.

And now on to the photos to commemorate this occasion.  She wasn't feeling super cooperative about being photographed this morning because I think she didn't understand why we were making such a big deal, so some of these are "candid" shots of us getting ready and going to school.

Lev is 7 Months old!

Our little baby is growing in leaps and bounds.  The theme of this past month has been moving, moving, MOVING!  Lev is trying really hard to crawl... No luck yet, but he's trying.  Add in some babbling (ba, ga, and da) and we're beginning to get a picture of what 1-year old Lev will be like.

Also, we've finally made some headway on sleep.  We're still working on consistency but it is so much better.  As of 2 nights ago, we're even trying to have the kids sleep in the same room (the long term plan all along). Regardless, Mom is even feeling half way human!
