Hanging out in St. Louis - Part 2

The night of Lauren's Bat Mitzvah party, Sadie enjoyed watching Aunt Renee get ready, while Lev mostly hung out.

The party itself was lots of fun - thank you Lefkowitzes for a great time!

The next day the kids spent more quality time with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Renee.  There was playing, silly faces, and just hanging out.

Hanging out in St. Louis - Part 1

We're home from our trip now - everyone had a great time.

Grandma and Sadie made banana muffins together.

Lev enjoyed being surrounded by many toys.

And of course, we got to spend some quality time with the extended family, both when they came to visit and at Lauren's Bat Mitzvah.

It was an action packed couple of days - so more pictures to come!

Mom was getting dressed one day this week and put Lev on the bed.  Sadie climbed on too and they shared a moment.

Travel to St. Louis

We're in St. Louis for the weekend.  Our trip down was fairly uneventful.  We checked in for our flight.  Sadie looked at our plane getting prepared. We placed Lev in the carrier and gate checked his carseat/stroller.

  

We were flying with a layover in Baltimore this time so we had time for a sit down lunch.

Lev didn't sleep enough throughout the day, so on the flight from BWI to STL he got increasingly more upset (vocally) and then he just passed out in Mom's arms.

But finally we arrived and the kids effortlessly reacquainted themselves with Chez Grandma and Grandpa!

Snow Day

These photos are a couple days old but they were too cute not to share.  This past Monday the AxB household enjoyed a snow day at home.  Mom and Sadie took a walk to CVS and Starbucks while Lev napped at home and dad worked.

Sadie then enjoyed playing in the snow on our front steps.

Once it was time to go in, Sadie wanted to bring some snow inside the house.  Mom thought it was the perfect opportunity for an experiment!  We got a container and put some snow in it to see what would happen to it once we brought it inside.

We also set up a small container of ice from the freezer next to the snow container to watch what happened to it.  After nap Sadie checked on them both...

Great Grandma Nina

Today Mom's grandmother (known as Great Grandma Nina on this blog) passed away. She'd known Mom all her life, having lived in the same house as Mom since she was born. She taught Mom almost everything she knows about cooking, including how to make blintzes, split pea soup, and fried eggs just the way Mom likes them.  She filled the house with homemade danishes for Rosh Hashanah and Matzoh ball soup on Pesach.  When Mom and Aunt Inna were little girls, she spoiled them with homemade french fries, butter noodles, and chocolate butter sandwiches. She was always there with a sarcastic comment and a crooked smile.

This is a photo of Great Grandma Nina when Babulya was younger than Mom is today, Mom was about 5, and Aunt Inna was around 7.

Lev is 6 months old!

So yeah... lots of developments since the new year what with the sitting and the eating and the omg who replaced my tiny newborn with a giant baby.  He's such a happy pleasant little boy with an easy smile and giggle one can almost forgive the fact that he's still not sleeping at night (we're working on it).

And now for a bonus photo.  Today we went out for breakfast and Lev sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time.  He enjoyed chomping on a spoon, the ambiance, and his first taste of eggs!
