Welcome home, Lev!

We tried to get a good picture of Lev's coming home outfit but he was not exactly interested in this...

 Here we are actually on our way out the door...

 

When we got home, we showed him his new digs, in particular the bassinet where he'll be sleeping next to Mom and Dad's bed.

We settled everyone in, and even got in a quick trip to Starbucks with our new carrier.

Then Babulya and Deda brought Sadie home to us and our family was reunited.  Sadie showed interest in Lev but also wanted some book time with Mom and play time with Dad.

So here we are now, officially a family of 4!

On Saturday Mom and Dad got some good bonding time in with Lev

Babulya and Deda brought Sadie in for another visit.

Then Max and Alice came with Elliot (Lev's future classmate)...

(Matti and Mark also came to visit both Friday and Saturday but somehow we failed to get any pictures of them...)

**UPDATE** Aunt Inna and cousin Michal also came to visit, once again with no photographic evidence.

Let's start at the very beginning...

This time around we managed to get a picture of Mom the night before she went in to labor (with Sadie our last picture is a whole week before).  So here is Mom on Wednesday evening, on her way out to dinner with Dad, while Sadie spent the night (which turned into several nights) at Babulya and Deda's.

Labor started the next morning (Thursday), after Dad had already gone to work.... fast forward many hours and we ended up here, at just past 2 am on Friday morning:

 

Later on Friday, Sadie got to visit for the first time, (brought by Deda after school).

Welcome Lev and Welcome to AxB Adventures

Something's new around here...

Lev was born July 31st, 2:10 am....

The vitals... 20 inches, 8 lbs 3.3 oz...

Mom and baby had a very long day and night and both are doing great today. The details can be shared at a later date, but Lev and Mom both worked very hard and got it done. Lev's getting some extra attention due to all his hard work, but everyone here is pretty sure all will be fine...

Many more posts coming up, of course...

We'll see Lev with Mom and Dad.
We'll see the AxB household with all four of its members for the first time...
We may even see Lev with more family and more friends!
And, of course, we'll hear a few words about the change in site name and address.

In the meantime, we hope all is working well enough with the changeover, if you encounter any problems, let us know and we'll try to fix it ASAP.

Sadie on the scooter update

Sadie is big enough now that she doesn't need the seat on the scooter and can use it like a big kid.  Yesterday afternoon we removed the seat and let her try it like that for the first time.  

At first we tried it on the sidewalk in front of our house. 

But Sadie was having trouble getting enough momentum to figure out how it really works.  So we walked to a near by parking lot, which also had the advnatage of having a slight downhill.  There Sadie really figured it out. She was scooting all over the place and even scooted most of the way home!

Back in Boston

Sadie came back from the Cape last night and as a first order of business decided to decorate mom's belly with some stickers.

Welcome back big girl - we missed you!

Babulya and Deda took Sadie to the Cape for a long weekend trip.  Mom and Dad have really appreciated this last chance for some time to sleep and get organized (39 weeks and counting!).  In the meantime, it looks like Sadie's been having a blast.

We miss our munchkin, but are thrilled that she's gotten the chance to enjoy summer so actively, even while Mom and Dad have had to slow down.  Thank you Babulya and Deda!

Sadie's new bathrobe

Sadie got a bathrobe for her birthday from Aunt Renee.  Unfortunately given our recent bath time woes we haven't had many opportunities to wear it.  But here is Sadie finally modeling her new acquisition which she is very excited about!

New Playground

Today we had to run some errands in Harvard Square and so the whole family went to Cambridge in the morning.  This seemed like a great opportunity to visit the playground in Cambridge Common.  We heard a while back that it won some kind of award but hadn't had the chance to try it out ourselves.  It... is... AWESOME.  We don't have a ton of pictures, but Sadie had a great time climbing things and playing with the water table.

Tuesdays with Dad

This past Tuesday we finally were able to return to our regularly scheduled programming of Sadie spending the day with Dad!

Dad took Sadie to her dentist appointment (she has all her teeth now, except her 2 year molars).  But they also had time for some fun at the play ground. If you look carefully, you'll see the car she got from the toy chest at the dentist carefully placed next to her right foot at the top of the slide.

Then as a bonus in the afternoon, Sadie took a bath.  For those of you in the know, you'll see this as quite the achievement that it is, since for the past month we have definitely been struggling in that department.  But with some well placed bribery (thank you Sesame Street bathmat, Elmo book, talk of "playing in the water" rather than taking a bath, and tons of patience from Mom and Dad!) we were able to achieve success.
