Sadie officially turned 2 today!  It's really hard to believe.

Long weekend Babymoon

This past week Mom and Dad took a last trip together before the product (err... baby) is delivered.  They went to Portsmouth, NH while Sadie stayed with Babulya and Deda.

Meanwhile,  Sadie had lots of fun too.  Babulya and Deda bought her a new tricycle for her birthday!  Here she is looking quite pleased with it and herself.

Not much new here - just a quiet weekend hanging around Brookline.  Here's a cute goofy picture of Sadie playing with Dino.

 

The whole family on the cape

Mom and Dad joined Sadie (and Babulya, Deda, and Nina) on the cape this weekend.  It was lovely weather and everyone spent lots of time outside!

Sadie is spending a couple of days with Babulya and Deda on Cape Cod (Mom and Dad will join them on Saturday).

 

 

 

Truck Show!

Yesterday Sadie's day care took a field trip to the Cambridge Truck Show - an event held especially for kids to see all the big machines used by the Department of Public Works.

Sadie LOVED it!  This is evidenced not just by the very smily pictures below sent to us by the day care, but also by the fact that this morning she immediately picked out a fire truck t-shirt to wear and ran around saying "vroom! truck!"

We were at the playground today and Sadie's figured out how to sit and hold on to the big-kid swing!  She had a really good time.

Train entertainment

Because Dad has been out of commission lately as far as day care drop off/pick up is concerned, several friends and family members have stepped in to fill in the gap (we are so grateful!).  Matti has been doing pick up about 2 days a week.  Sadie has expressed extreme interest in opening and closing various compartments on Matti's backpack, which as you can imagine is not always a convenient activity.  As a result, Matti got Sadie a toy turtle with all kinds of buckles and zippers to keep Sadie occupied.

Here is a transcript of texts Matti sent us the first time she pulled out the turtle for Sadie...

Matti: We can now close all six buckles and open one of them
We do not mess around
We are VERY DISPLEASED that Matti connected the red one to the yellow one
Oh, but she's allowed to connect them

Happy Mother's Day

Today was a beautiful day  - sunny and warm.  Mom went to yoga in the morning and then met up with Dad and Sadie on the playground.  Sadie had a great time running around, climbing and going down various slides.

Later in the day, we went out of sushi and Sadie gave Mom the best mother's day present of all - Sadie tried a new food! A food that is a vegetable! And then ate a lot of it!  Here she is eating edamame...

She also ate three (!!!) whole pieces of Ikuru (salmon roe) sushi and a bunch of tobiko.  Here is dad feeding her some tobiko off his chopsticks...

 It was a wonderful day :-)

Hanging out with Mom and Dad

This morning we were all sitting on Mom and Dad's bed and Dad decided to capture the moment from his vantage point in the mirror.

Mom, however, told him to go get a real picture if he was so inclined.  Sadie was being particularly cute...

Then once everyone was dressed and ready to go, we took a family outing to Zaftigs.  Sadie has suddenly gotten really into using her crayons for drawing instead of just taking them in and out of containers.  This makes it much easier to wait for our food..
