Photo Dump

Things have been very busy here lately and it's not going to let up any time soon.  As a result we've been a bit delinquent in posting new pictures.  Here is a random assortment that we haven't had a chance to post.

Sadie got her first tooth and her first ear infection this past week... I know, you're jealous that we're so lucky.  She's usually a bouncing off the walls kind of baby, but I think as a result she was actually interested in cuddling with Mom and Dad Saturday morning...

Here are some more pictures, after the antibiotics kicked in and she was back to wanting to see and climb on everything.

Korean Food

Taking advantage of neighboring Allston's new character as Korea-town, we ventured out Sunday for some lunch. 

Once the originally planned restaurant wasn't yet open, we went just next door to another restaurant (yes, I said it is Korea-town... for those of you who are/were local, Allston Village now has more Korean places than pizza places, seriously...). 

Anyway, Sadie tried vegetable dumplings and bibimbop. 

As with just about everything else so far...

She seems to have liked it.

Plus, now she's developing some curls to admire..

Pulling up EVERYWHERE

Sadie is now quite adept at pulling up, on everything, everywhere, all the time. 

Here she is pulling up on something rather normal though.

Of course, she doesn't stand ALL day.

 And here she is trying some sunflower butter on a tortilla.

 Now, that wasn't the end of new foods this weekend, but that's another story...

Sadie's 8 month recap!

She's a whole new baby this month.  She crawls and babbles and eats table food.  We've had to lower the crib and we can never be quite sure what she's up to after we leave the room with her in it.  We've also had to say good bye to footed pants because they're too slippery on our wooden floors when she pulls up.   I can't even imagine what she'll be up to next month!  And now... for the photos

Today Sadie is 8 months old

But this is not the 8 month re-cap yet...  Sadie's slowly been dropping her 3rd nap, which we're hoping will allow us a bit more freedom during the day to go places.  Today we ventured out to a diner before the big snowstorm. 

Sadie now eats almost anything.  Here's her tucking into eggs, lox and waffle!

And here's her at the same diner when she was just a 3 weeks old - just 7 short months ago.

It's really subtle, it may take two or three viewings.

Sadie eating her first sushi

On Sunday we took Sadie to eat her first Sushi.  She did great! She ate 2 pieces of avacado roll (sans seaweed) and even tried salmon roe for the first time.  Between bites, she enjoyed all the attention Alice and Matti could lavish on her :-)

Swim Class - Illicit Picture

Sadie and I have just had our second swim class this past Sunday.  They don't allow spectators or pictures except on the last day of class (in 2 weeks), but a friend of mine (from the mom's group I used to go to, whose daughter is in the same class) snuck one in of us.

Sadie and I had the same thing for lunch today - lentils, buckwheat, and spinach (her spinach was blended, mine was not;  the lentils and buckwheat were the same).  I think we both thought it was pretty tasty!

Music Class!

Finally Dad remembered to take some pictures at music class...

We do all sorts of songs, some with hand motions, some with movement, and lots and lots with different kind of (largely percussion) instruments.

Here we are with an rhinoceros rattle.

...though Sadie looks more interested in conducting than playing...

If you listen to that one, you'll hear some discussion about music itself, trying to bring more than just silly songs and banging to the whole experience. It's a bit much for Sadie, but the class is a mix of 6 months to 4 years old, so she can grow into learning about tones, rhythm, and melodies. 

Even still, sometimes class is just a lot of noisy fun!
